Former India player, Saba Karim heaped praise on Rinku Singh, who made his international debut against Ireland in the first T20I match on Friday (August 18) at The Village, Dublin. Karim said that it is good to see Rinku Singh not confused or agitated during his first international tour.

India won the three-match T20I series against Ireland by 2-0 after the third game was abandoned without a ball bowled due to heavy rain. However, Jasprit Bumrah-led Men in Blues displayed a stellar performance in the first two matches.

One of the main talking will be Rinku Singh’s debut and his batting inning in the second T20I match where he scored 38 runs from 21 balls with a strike rate of 180.95, following which he was named the Player of the Match.

Secondly, Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the Blue jersey after a terrific injury will be a big relief for India’s team management. Bumrah was also named the player of the series after he picked four wickets in the first two matches.

While speaking on Jio Cinema, former India player Saba Karim applauded Rinku Singh and said that the 25-year-old batsman is the find of the Ireland tour. The 55-year-old said how Rinku managed to get a piece of knowledge about the conditions is applaudable and needs more international games.

“Rinku Singh’s transition from a domestic cricketer to an international cricketer – that for me is the find of this tour. Lots of positives here. Top of my mind it has to be Rinku Singh – the way he has been able to understand the conditions and the demands of the international game,” said Saba Karim.

Saba Karim further added that Rinku Singh did not change his playing in the Ireland tour and he played the same way in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and domestic league.

“The way he was able to play such a stable innings, that is the way that he has played not only in IPL but also in domestic matches. Good to see that he did not need to change his game plan at all. Good to see not to see him flustered. And that is a huge positive for me,” added Saba Karim.

After the ending of the Ireland tour, the Men in Blues will now focus on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 which will start on Wednesday (August 30th). However, Rohit Sharma-led India will start their campaign against Pakistan on Saturday (September 2nd) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
