USA's historic win over Pakistan yesterday sent major shockwaves around the cricketing fraternity with Shikhar Dhawan becoming the latest to congratulate them.

It was a game that will be talked about for a long time and whenever there is a conversation about World Cup upsets, USA Vs Pakistan will always be mentioned. The co-hosts, led by Monank Patel, well and truly showcased their cricketing prowess and how strong they are as a clinical and complete unit.

Pakistan, despite being one of the best teams in world cricket, failed to handle the pressure better than the USA did. Despite being one of the minnows in the tournament, the United States showed that if there's a will, then there's a way. The quote "Fortune favors the brave" literally aligns with what the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 co-hosts displayed yesterday in Dallas, Texas.

Shikhar Dhawan joins Suryakumar Yadav and Yuvraj Singh in congratulating USA

Outcast Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan, after the USA's win over Pakistan, joined Suryakumar Yadav and Yuvraj Singh among others in congratulating team USA. Dhawan, who himself knows the taste of beating the Pakistanis, passed on his appreciation to the US team for being able to clinch a Super Over victory against the Men in Green.

Shikhar Dhawan took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle earlier today to convey his message to the USA. "Well done, USA team, for securing a dramatic win over Pakistan in the Super Over! Celebrate this fantastic achievement!😍 #t20worldcup2024." - Dhawan wrote on X.

Shikhar Dhawan is not the only one who congratulated the USA for their achievement yesterday. India's very own 360-degree batter Suryakumar Yadav also took to Instagram and congratulated his former Mumbai teammate Sourabh Netravalkar.

The left-arm seamer was the one responsible for delivering an efficient Super Over as he had restricted Pakistan to just 13 runs. Inaugural T20 World Cup winner in 2007 and this edition's ambassador Yuvraj Singh also appreciated USA for their performance.

Yuvraj also had a message for Pakistan that they could have actually let Fakhar Zaman take the strike in the Super Over instead of putting Iftikhar Ahmed. The former All-rounder then hailed the USA team for their smart decisions on the field and had a special mention for skipper Monank Patel, who had paved the way for victory with his 50 off 38.

"Nonetheless have to give it #TeamUSA @usacricketfor making smart decisions under pressure especially the captain Monank."- Yuvraj wrote on X.

Monank Patel reveals USA's strategy in the Super Over

During the post-match press conference, Monank Patel reflected on the USA's strategy in the final 6 balls of the match in their defense during the Super Over. Patel revealed that Saurabh Netravalkar was handed the ball as his left-arm pace could create a difficult angle for the right-hand batters.

The few wide balls that Netravalkar bowled were also a part of the plan to bowl outside off-stump wide yorkers which are hard to reach and hard to drag to the boundary. Monank Patel and Co. will now gear up for a clash against India next.
