Indian batter Virat Kohli opened up about the upcoming blockbuster clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023. He believes that the strength of their arch-rivals lies in their bowling and their bowlers can change the game anytime.

We are just one sleep away from the India vs Pakistan game in the Asia Cup 2023. The game will take place on Saturday (2nd September) in Kandy. The match mostly will be known for the battle between Indian batters and Pakistan bowlers.

India and Pakistan over the last few years have engaged in some electrifying contests. The competition between the bat and the ball has been enthralling to watch. But there’s only one man who has stood tall for India in all the encounters and it’s none other than the great Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli automatically comes to his best when it comes to the game against Pakistan. The last time these two teams clashed, the world witnessed Kohli special as he single-handedly won the game for his team despite Pakistan bowlers wreaking havoc across the batters.

With the match just around the corner, Virat Kohli admitted that to face the Pakistan bowlers, they need to be at their absolute best. Notably, the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf are currently the best trio going in world cricket. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained:

“I feel bowling is their strength. And they’ve got some really impactful bowlers that can change the course of the game anytime based on their skill set. So, you have to be at your absolute best to face them.

“I only try to understand how I can better my game. Every day, every practice session, every year, every season, this is what has helped me play this well for so long and to perform for my team.”

IND vs PAK: Mindset is ‘How do I make my team win from this position? – Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli strongly believes that mindset is the biggest factor in performing consistently and whenever he plays a game he only thinks about how will he make his team win. He explained:

”I don’t think you can perform consistently without that mindset because if your performance is your only goal, then you can be satisfied and stop working hard. There is no limit to it.

“There is no set achievement that if you reach a certain stage, you’ve reached excellence. I think I strive for betterment every day, so that is a better word to use, and yes, performance obviously becomes a by-product because your mindset is ‘How do I make my team win from this position?’

Virat Kohli would be hoping to replicate what he did against Pakistan last time in the upcoming game. It remains to be seen how he fares in the match.
