Star New Zealand pacer Trent Boult revealed his favorite cricketer in international cricket at the moment. Trent Boult didn’t pick stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, or Kane Williamson. Instead, he picked his former Mumbai Indians teammate as his current favorite cricketer.
Trent Boult is currently representing the New Zealand team in the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. The left-arm pacer has picked up one wicket in two matches at an average of 82 and an economy rate of 4.56. He went wicketless against the Netherlands in the second game.
Trent Boult Reveals His Current Favorite Cricketer
During a recent interaction with Star Sports, when asked to pick his current favorite cricket player, Trent Boult named ace Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
“My current favorite cricketer is Jasprit Bumrah,” Trent Boult told Star Sports.
Bumrah and Boult played together for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2020 and 2021. The duo guided the team to a title victory in the IPL 2020. Boult claimed 25 wickets in 15 matches, making him the third-highest wicket-taker in the season.
We’re Not Preparing Any Special For Any Team – Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah will be next seen in action during the high-octane match against Pakistan in Ahmedabad. He emphasized that the team is not preparing specifically for any particular team and is instead focusing on their own strengths and preparation.
“See, every team will have batsmen, every team will have bowlers. We also have batsmen; we also have bowlers. We’re not preparing any special for any special team,” Bumrah said.
“Yes, we’re looking at ourselves more than the others because we’ve realized that if we focus on our team, we focus on our strengths, everything else takes care of itself. So, we are focusing on our team, our preparation.”
“If everything that is there in our control, we control that, that gives us the best chance. So that is what our team is focusing on,” he added.
The Rohit Sharma-led team will face Babar Azam-led Pakistan in their next match at the world’s biggest stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.
