Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar feels that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma get a lot of bashing by the media. He also added that he feels sorry for the current players because they get a lot of pressure due to such issues.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got out for poor scores in the previous IND vs PAK clash of Asia Cup 2023. While Rohit Sharma got out for 11 runs, Virat Kohli got out for 4 runs. Both of them lost their wickets to Shaheen Afridi, who dismissed them in the first few overs itself.

Feel Sad For Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli: Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar recently talked about the IND vs PAK clash of Asia Cup 2023 during a show on his YouTube channel. During the show, the cricketer-turned-commentator said he feels sad for players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who get a lot of bashing from the media.

“I feel sad for the likes of Virat and Rohit for the bashing that they get. But Virat is someone who performs under pressure. There hasn’t been a greater batter than Sachin and even he had to suffer for 20 years, the onslaught from media.

“I feel the media does a lot of bashing for TRP. I feel sorry for the current cricketers for the pressure they’re under,” Kohli said.

The former right-arm pacer also said if he was with his team, he would ask them to disturb Virat Kohli’s focus. Otherwise, he will get set on the field and win the match for India.

“We have the better bowling attack. If I was with the team, I would have pushed them to show more courage and be fearless. Don’t talk to Virat Kohli, just start pushing him. Disturb his focus. Get him busy with you.

If he gets busy with batting then he will win the game. One lakh people in Ahmedabad watching India play Pakistan. Who will be under pressure? Pakistan? I want them to identify this and cash in on the opportunity,” Shoaid Akhtar further added.
