IND Vs PAK: Virat Kohli Issues Massive Warning To Pakistan Ahead Of Asia Cup 2023 And ICC World Cup 2023 Clashes

India star batsman, Virat Kohli spoke ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 and said that even he still likes to face new challenges even after playing cricket for 15 years.

Virat Kohli will have to play a major role in the upcoming prestigious tournament and put an end to India’s 10-year drought of not winning an ICC trophy.

Currently, Virat Kohli is in his top form and displayed a stunning performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, and the Indian Cricket Team fans will be hoping to see the same show from the former India skipper in the ODI World Cup.

As quoted by PTI, Virat Kohli said that he gets excited when the challenges in front of him are difficult and shy away from them. Kohli accepted that the forthcoming ODI World Cup is a challenge for him.

“Any challenge in front of you, you look forward to it. When difficulty comes in front of you get excited. You don’t shy away from it. After 15 years I still like encounters, and the World Cup 2023 is one (challenge). It excites me, I need something new to, you know, propel me to another level,” told the 34-year-old batsman during an event in Bengaluru.

The 354-year-old batsman accepted that the pressure is always there since the fans want to see the team win a World Cup trophy. Kohli added that no one wants to win the World Cup more than the players.

“The pressure is always there. The fans always say we want (the team) to win a cup very badly. I’d like to say not more than me. So, I’m in the right place. Honestly, I know the expectations are there and the emotions of the people are there. But please know that no one wants to win more than players,” Kohli added.

I probably didn’t understand the magnitude of it: Virat Kohli

Kohli talked about his first World Cup win and said that it was his turning point in his career and now he has changed and knows the emotions are high.

“My career highlight is obviously winning the World Cup in 2011. I was 23 at the time, and I probably didn’t understand the magnitude of it. But now at 34, and has played many World Cups, which we haven’t been able to win, So, I understand the emotions of all the senior players (in 2011),” he further added.

Rohit Sharma-led India will start their ODI World Cup journey on October 8th and will take on Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The high-voltage match of the tournament between the Men in Blues and Pakistan will take place on October 14th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
