India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has made a sensational comeback into the Indian team after the horrific accident that he faced in December 2022. The left-hander made a return to the team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
Rishabh Pant made a return to competitive cricket in the IPL 2024. The keeper-batter looked in tremendous touch with the bat for the Delhi Capitals and forced the selectors to pick him in the team for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, underway in Carribean and USA.
Rishabh Pant was the top run-scorer for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024. The captain of the franchise amassed 446 runs at an average of 40 and a strike rate of 155 in the games that he played. However, even after that, there were doubts about him being fit for international cricket.
But the keeper-batter replied to all the questions in style. He was given the opportunity by the team management to bat at the top as he walked into bat at No.3 in the warmup game against Bangladesh at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Rishabh Pant made an immediate impact as he hit a blistering half-century. The keeper-batter looked in tremendous touch and didn’t put a foot wrong, handing fast bowlers as well as spinners equally well and walking back after playing an innings of 53 runs.
In India’s first game against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2024, Rishabh Pant was trusted by the team management at No.3 and he made sure that he repaid the faith of the side. On a tough pitch, where batting seemed difficult, he stood tall for his team and took them home.
Rishabh Pant played an unbeaten innings of 36 runs off 26 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 140 and also hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His valiant knock helped India chase the target of 97 runs inside 13 overs at the Nassau County Cricket International Stadium in New York.

The injury didn't look serious as Rishabh Pant continued batting even after that. The keeper-batter will be extremely important for his team in the game against Pakistan. With him getting the new position at No.3, his role becomes even more important as if the early wicket falls, all would be dependent on him.
