Ahead of the highly-anticipated match between India and Pakistan in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, former cricketers Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shahid Afridi reunited in New York.

The high-voltage clash is scheduled to be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday (June 9). It will be the second game in the tournament for both teams. Navjot Singh Sidhu is currently in the USA as a part of the commentary panel and got the opportunity to catch up with Shahid Afridi.

The former India and Pakistan cricketers greeted each other with a warm hug before Sidhu said: "Handsome Afridi! Is there a smarter man than him?"

In reply, Afridi said: "Paaji ke saath humne boht cricket kheli hai (I have played a lot of cricket with

Sidhu then went on to make an interesting comment. The former India batsman seemingly took a dig at the quality of current Pakistan cricketers as he said: "Tumhare baad aise bande kahan chale gaye? (Where did people like you go after you left?)"

Meanwhile, the upcoming game between India and Pakistan is of huge importance for both teams especially the latter. India started their campaign in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup with an 8-wicket win over Ireland. They are currently at the second spot in the points table and a win over Pakistan would put them in a strong position for a place in the next round.

Pakistan, on the other hand, are in sorts of trouble and the game against India is almost a must-win game for them. The Men in Green began their campaign with a shock loss against co-hosts USA who are at the top of the points table with two wins. A defeat against India will put Pakistan on the verge of elimination. The Babar Azam-led side need to come up with a remarkable effort to beat India and get their campaign on track.
