Coming to the match, India lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Skipper Rohit Sharma walked out to bat with Virat Kohli and for Pakistan Shaheen Afridi took the new ball at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Rohit Sharma made sure that he took his team off to a flying start with the bat. The India captain hit a magnificent six off Shaheen Afridi and put pressure on the opposition. India posted 8 runs in the first over before rain interrupted the play.

Ahead of the game, India batter Suryakumar Yadav spoke about the game and claimed that despite the wicket being tough, they need to keep on the intent as it is very important in a format like this.

Suryakumar Yadav also talked about playing according to the situation and claimed that if the team wants him to stay there he will stay. He added that he is looking forward to the game against Pakistan. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:

“We definitely can't prepare for weather like this but our preparations have been good so far. I won't think of avoiding any shot on this track, intent is very important in this format, don't think I have to avoid any shot.

“If a team requires me to stay there, I'll look to do that. It's always been a great competition between the two teams so really looking forward to it,” he concluded.

Suryakumar Yadav is expected to play a huge role with the bat in the ongoing game against Pakistan. He will hold the key for India in the middle order.
