IND vs SA: "Flat-Track Bully" - Twitter Slams Shubman Gill For Another Failure In Test Cricket

Fans on X reacted after India batter Shubman Gill bagged another failure in Test cricket. The first match of the two-match Test series between South Africa and India is taking place at the Supersport Park in Centurion. 

India have been put into bat first and are finding it hard to get going against the threatening South Africa pace attack, which has been all over them. The Proteas bowlers have made batters dance to their tunes and put visitors under immense pressure. 

India lost skipper Rohit Sharma (5) and then walked Shubman Gill at No.3. It was expected that the young batter would steady the innings and help his team score some runs. But it wasn’t the case as he fell early and the team came under immense pressure. 

Shubman Gill got out in a most unusual way as he was caught down the leg side. During the first ball of the 12th over, Nandre Burger bowled a back-of-length delivery that nipped down the leg side. The ball was far away from the bat and it didn’t look like the batter would get out. 

Shubman Gill got his glove on its way through to the keeper. The umpires gave it not out but South Africa were optimistic that the batter got a glove. They opted for a DRS and it was confirmed that he had made his way back to Pavillion.

Shubman Gill scored just 2 runs off 12 balls and his wicket left India tumbling at 24/3. Coming into the game, the right-hander was under the scanner because of his poor outings in Test cricket. It was expected that he would silence the critics but it wasn’t the case as he invited more criticism. 

Shubman Gill would be livid with himself with the way he got out. The batter slammed a vital ton in the practice game and it was expected that he would set the stage on fire. He will have another opportunity in the second innings to turn around things.
