IND vs SA: "Not Limited To Cricket"- Ishan Kishan On Friendship With Shubman Gill

Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan shed light on his friendship with Shubman Gill. Ishan Kishan said that his friendship with Shubman Gill is not just limited to cricket. He also said that they care for each other.

Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill are two emerging youngsters for Team India. Both of them hold the rare record of smacking a double ton in ODIs. Kishan and Shubman Gill were also part of the India squad during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

While Gill has cemented his place as an opener in the Indian Team, Kishan does not play for the team regularly. However, he got enough opportunities and played many matches for India this year. Kishan and Gill share a close bond. Many times, their funny moments are captured on the camera and go viral on social media.

Our Relation Not Limited To Cricket, But Also Off The Field: Ishan Kishan

Recently, Ishan Kishan appeared on the Kaun Banega Crorepati show with India Woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana. During a chat with actor and show host Amitabh Bachchan, Kishan talked about his friendship with Shubman Gill. He said that he and Gill are very good friends who care for each other.

“Me and Gill are very good friends, and we care for each other as well. We became friends when teams like India A, India B and India C existed with high-performing players from various states. He was in my team, but I did not get to know when he came to sleep in my room,” the left-handed batter said.

Kishan, who is not part of the ongoing IND vs SA Test series, said that their friendship is not limited to cricket but also off the field.

“So, what happened is, whenever we used to go on tour out of India, we used to go eating together and go everywhere together. From there, our friendship became deep. Our relation is not limited to cricket, but also off the field,” the left-handed batsman further added.

Ishan Kishan Opted Out Of IND vs SA Test Series

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill is part of the ongoing IND vs SA Test series. He is also part of the 1st Test, which began on Tuesday, December 26 at SuperSport Stadium in Centurion. He got out for 2 runs in the 1st innings batting at one-down position.

Ishan Kishan was also part of the India squad for the Test series against South Africa. However, the left-handed batter opted out of the series due to mental fatigue and urged for a break.

KS Bharat was picked into the squad as a replacement. In Kishan’s absence, KL Rahul took the wicketkeeper’s responsibility in IND vs SA 1st Test. Notably, Kishan was part of the team since the start of 2023 after Rishabh Pant’s ouster due to injury.
