Indian Cricket Team is making headlines at the moment. The Men in Blue won the ODI Series after being 1-0 down against South Africa. In the absence of star batters, Shreyas Iyer took the responsibility on his shoulders and scored 191 runs in which he struck one Century and a half-century in the Series.
India would be quite delighted as they defeated a powerful South African team. It won’t be wrong to say that VVS Laxman is doing a good job in the absence of Rahul Dravid who currently is in Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022. The second string team has given headaches to the selection panel.
Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson Move up the Rankings
Shreyas Iyer climbed three spots to enter into 33 position. The right-handed batter would be pleased with his performance and at the same time, he knows that he has a long rally ahead to make it into the Indian Side.
Along with him, Sanju Samson has entered 93 number in the ODI rankings. The wicket-keeper batter made the most of an opportunity and scored 118 runs which included 1 half-century.
Kuldeep Yadav On a Roll
The left-arm chinaman would be over the moon with his performance in this ODI Series. The spinner took 6 wickets in the series, but his 4 wicket haul in the 3rd ODI match was a treat to watch. The 27-year-old spinner has been in and out of the side.
The spinner moved to the 25th position as he jumped to 5 more places in the ICC Rankings. The management should use him as a secret weapon for the next year’s ODI World Cup. Kuldeep’s peculiarity is that he can extract turn on a flat deck too which is priceless in modern cricket.
