The dominance of the Indian pacers continued in the second Test between India and South Africa being played at the Sahara Park Newlands in Cape Town. In the first innings, it was Mohammed Siraj and now it is Jasprit Bumrah who has taken a fifer and broken the backbone of the South African batting lineup. Bumrah removed Keshav Maharaj to complete his fifer.
However, the main highlight of Jasprit Bumrah‘s five-wicket haul was the wicket of Marco Jansen. On the fifth ball of the 24th over, Jansen tried to play a drive and made good contact. However, Bumrah pouched the ball with both hands and celebrated with a huge roar. Watch Here:

Jasprit Bumrah comes out of the syllabus for South Africa on Day 2 morning
South Africa finished at 62/3 at the end of Day 1 and were still behind by 36 runs at the start of Day 2. It was a wicketful morning for the Indian pacers as Jasprit Bumrah got rid of David Bedingham only after the Proteas had added four runs to their score. At the one end, the wickets continued to fall, and in the current situation, the hosts are seven down for 111 runs.
However, Aiden Markram is standing tall against the fiery Indian pacers and is looking to help his team gain a fighting lead. 23 wickets fell on Day 1 of the second Test between India and South Africa.
The Proteas were blown away for 55 runs in the first innings by Mohammed Siraj’s sixfer, whereas India were only able to score 153 runs in their first innings and lost their last six wickets for 0 runs. This was one of the most horrible batting collapses that the Indian team would have ever experienced in any Test match.
India have been playing at the Sahara Park Newlands since 1993 and have not yet won a Test match at this ground. They have played a total of six Tests here and have lost four of them. 2 matches have ended in a draw. India have lost twice in the last five years at the Sahara Park Newlands and currently, they have the best chance to achieve their maiden victory on the ground.
India will also want to end the South African tour with a win and level the series 1-1. However, any target that South Africa gives them in the fourth innings will not be easy due to the nature of the surface. The Indian team will want to chase down anything less than 150 runs.
India would be facing Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series right after the South African tour at home whereas England would be waiting for India from January 25 as they will play a five-match Test series against the Rohit Sharma-led side on Indian soil.
However, this time it will be Ben Stokes who will lead England whereas Brendon McCullum is the team’s head coach. The major part of note out here is will the English team’s ‘Bazball’ tactics work on the spin-friendly Indian pitches or if it will be the Indian spinners, who will once again dominate against the three lions.
