India’s woes with the bat during the first IND vs SA Test match continued as the team lost its eighth wicket in the form of Jasprit Bumrah. No one other than Indian batter Virat Kohli was able to face the South African bowlers and they were back in the hut by getting out in one of the most disgusting fashions.

During the second ball of the 31st over, Virat Kohli pushed the ball through the extra-cover region wherein Kohli called for two runs straightaway after hitting the ball.

However, there were no two runs on this occasion. The ball went straight to Dean Elgar wherein he threw a wide throw to Kagiso Rabada on the non-striker’s end. Bumrah was not able to make the ground and was run out.

While Virat Kohli looked helpless, Jasprit Bumrah didn’t look happy while returning to the dressing room.

The Indian team was 62/3 at Tea on Day 3, and just after the start of play, they lost their next six wickets for 59 runs. India lost their ninth wicket for 121 and now it looks like they are on the verge of an innings defeat.

The match has been totally dominated by the South African team as from the start of the first innings the Indian batsmen had no clue of how to play the Proteas bowlers. Indian captain Rohit Sharma lost his wicket to an absolute beauty from Kagiso Rabada whereas Yashasvi Jaiswal was also not able to do much and got out to Nandre Burger.

Shubman Gill was looking good and had hit six boundaries, but played down the wrong line in front of Marco Jansen and lost his furniture. The same happened in the case of Shreyas Iyer, wherein he was trying to play an on-the-up shot but in the end, was castled by Jansen.

Virat Kohli has been the lone fighter in the second innings and has completed his half-century. However, the right-handed batter didn’t get any support from the other end due to which India is on the verge of a shameful defeat.

Dean Elgar and Kagiso Rabada were the major villains for the Indian cricket team in the first Test as it was Rabada’s fifer with the ball and Elgar’s 185 with the bat which hurt the visitors the most in the Centurion Test.

India is yet to win a Test series in South Africa and eyeing the current situation, they might have to wait for another tour to fulfil their dream. It has been 31 years since India has been touring South Africa, but every time the Proteas have played better than the Indians at home.

Also, Dean Elgar will be playing his last Test series for South Africa and will want to end his career by winning the series.

The second Test match of the series will be played from January 3 at the Sahara Park Newlands in Cape Town. After losing the Centurion Test, they will focus on leveling the series in Cape Town.
