Indian captain Rohit Sharma got most of things right as the skipper of the team in the ongoing second Test against South Africa. The last match of the series between the teams is taking place at Newlands Park in Cape Town, which has seen wickets falling in a jiffy.

Rohit Sharma made some brilliant bowling changes in the game, which was one of the main reasons why India has been on the top. But on the morning of Day 2, he looked sort of confused after Aiden Markam took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners.

Rohit Sharma seemed to be finding it difficult to set the field to Aiden Markam. During the start of the innings pm Day 2 when the batter played with an attacking approach, the Indian captain was seen asking for suggestions from the previous skipper Virat Kohli.

In the video that has gone viral on the internet, Rohit Sharma can be heard asking Virat Kohli, “Iske liye gully rakhu ya teesra rakhu” (Should I keep gully or third man for Aiden Markam).

Here’s the video:

The field position set by Rohit Sharma for Aiden Markram didn’t seem to be working. The South Africa opener made the Indian captain look clueless with the kind of innings that he played. He put visitors under tremendous pressure and for a moment it seemed that he would take the game away from the opposition.

Aiden Markram held one end whereas wickets kept falling at the other. He made sure that he made India bat again. The batter first was focused on the deficit and once his team took the lead, he took attack to the bowlers and smashed them all over the park.

Aiden Markam raced away to the century with his best coming in the over of Prasidh Krishna. The batter slammed 20 runs in that over and after that reached the milestone. He ended with the knock of 106 runs off 103 balls including 17 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He made sure that his bowlers had something to defend.

IND vs SA: Rohit Sharma on the verge of becoming the second Indian skipper to draw a series in South Africa

After Aiden Markam got out, Indian bowlers wrapped up the South African tail quickly. Jasprit Bumrah picked 6 wickets whereas Mukesh Kumar bagged two scalps. Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj also picked one wicket each as India bundled out South Africa for 176 runs to set themselves a target of 79 runs.

The onus will now be on skipper Rohit Sharma to take his team to glory. The batter played a vital hand of 39 runs in the first innings and would be hoping to play a similar kind of knock this time around. He will hold the key for his team in the chase and he needs to step up if India has to win.

If India chase the target of 79 runs, Rohit Sharma will become only the second Indian skipper to draw a series in South Africa, joining MS Dhoni, who achieved the feat during the 2010-11 tour. The series between the teams is currently at 1-0 with Proteas in the lead. They thumped visitors by innings and 32 runs in the first match in Centurion.
