“South Africa is a great team, they always challenges us, they are sch a good team. We can take a lot of pride from this performance. (On Elgar) Such an important player for SA, very gritty, we appreciate that. I’d like to wish him the best. Brilliant career, best wishes ahead” Rohit said on Elgar.

The South African skipper then looked back on his Test career speaking about the importance of his Baggy Green Cap. He along with Jasprit Bumrah were named the joint Man of the Series for their performances. Elgar spoke about his administration for the Indian pacers.

“Some really tough batting conditions throughout. It (3-Test series) would have been fantastic. You want to challenge yourself, Bumrah is world-class, he deserves this award. You want to push yourself to limits. Glad that I don’t have to face these guys again. Fond memories. We’ve come a long way. Very grateful to play against these guys. A lot of good memories, I received it (green cap) in 2012, I have missed only one series. It’s got a special place. Only leaves for duty, that’s done and dusted” Elgar added.

India are back as the number one-ranked team in the WTC 2023-35 cycle. The Cape Town win has taken them to the first position on the points table with a PCT point of 54.16. South Africa closely follow them on the second with 50.00 PCT points.
