IND vs SA: Watch - Virat Kohli Gets Hit On Face While Stopping The Ball

India batter Virat Kohli has been electric in the field in ongoing second Test against South Africa. The series decider between the teams is taking place at the Newlands Park in Capetown, where hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. 

India have been all over South Africa in the ongoing game. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have wreaked havoc across the opposition’s batting lineup and have removed four wickets in no time and have put them under tremendous pressure. 

Apart from the sensational bowling, what has caught the eye of many is the intensity of the Indian team on the field. Virat Kohli has been the key architect behind it as he has instilled energy among the other players as well. The visitors in the slip cordon have been nothing short of exceptional. 

Virat Kohli was at the receiving end of the blow as well while fielding. During the 5th ball of the 9th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a straight delivery off the deck. David Bedingham tried to push it and got an outside edge but that didn’t carry. 

The ball came on the bounce to Virat Kohli, who was at first slip. As he tried to take the ball, it deflected from his hand and went on to hit the batter on his face. Fortunately, it didn’t come at a pace and didn’t hit him hard.

Coming to the match, South Africa have been left in tatters. Mohammed Siraj has picked a fifer in no time and has made sure that he takes his team off the flyer in the game. Apart from him, Jasprit Bumrah has picked one wicket as India have reduced the opposition to 46/8. 

The bowling performance was in need of an hour for India, especially after what happened in the last match. The visitors looked down and dusted and lost the game by the margin of an innings and 32 runs to go 1-0 down in the series. Their heroics in the ongoing game must have given much-needed momentum to the visitors.

For that Virat Kohli will be crucial for the team. Indian batters usually have struggled on the South African pitches but not Kohli. He has a great record in these conditions and played a staggering innings in the last game, where he scored 76 runs in the second innings. 

Virat Kohli would be hoping to continue his golden touch and play another special innings in an ongoing game. If he plays to his potential, it’s fair to say that it will be a huge boost for India and will make them favorites to win the game.
