Indian batsman Virat Kohli was one of the shining aspects of the Indian cricket team during the first Test match against South Africa. Kohli was the only batsman in the second innings, who showed some grace and played a knock of 76 runs. However, Kohli could not rescue the Indian team from a defeat against the Proteas and they lost the match by an innings and 32 runs.
As India are gearing up for the second Test match in Cape Town from January 3, they will aim to finish the South African tour with a win. All the eyes will also be on Virat Kohli, who is sweating it out in the nets at the Sahara Park Newlands.
In a viral video on social media, Virat Kohli can be seen practicing in the nets against Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and other bowlers. Kohli was solid as always and hit some brilliant shots. Kohli also stepped down to the ground and hit Ashwin down the ground for a six.

Virat Kohli had an excellent return to international cricket and is the second-highest run-scorer of the year. The right-handed batter has hit eight hundreds in the whole year and has scored 2048 runs from 35 matches at an average of 66.06.
Virat Kohli went through a tough phase in international cricket when the centuries had almost dried up from his bat. Kohli dominated world cricket for over a decade and hit centuries in every part of the ground. Kohli scored a fighting hundred in Centurion during the first Test against South Africa back in 2018 but was not able to take the team to a victory. Kohli was also the captain of the Indian side back then.
Virat Kohli was looking good throughout the first Test match against South Africa but was not able to continue his good knock and got out for 38 runs in the first innings. Kohli also batted really well in the second innings but didn’t get any support from the other Indian batsmen, due to which he remained stranded at one end and at the end after being helpless got out for 75 runs.
As the Indian team land in Cape Town for the second Test, they have not won a single match here on the last two occasions and will want to change the record.
The Indian team showcased a flop batting show and were not able to play well against an inexperienced pace attack. The trio of Kagiso Rabada, Nandre Burger, and Marco Yansen ripped through the Indian batting order and also gave them a reason to rethink on their batting technique.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma also was seen playing against Mukesh Kumar in the nets and urged him to bowl the incoming deliveries. Rohit played some good shots and was also beaten many times by the Bengal pacer.
The Indian team can rope in Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar in place of Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur for the second Test match against South Africa.
