India batter Virat Kohli enjoyed his time out on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test against South Africa. The series decider between the teams is underway at Newlands Park in Cape Town and it was one hell of a day.

The new year’s Test didn’t pan out the way many expected but it had its moments. Amid all the high-intensity battles between the two teams, Virat Kohli was the center of the attraction yet again as he grabbed the spotlight with his antics.

Virat Kohli was in a joyous mood and did everything he could ever do to entertain his teammates as well as the fans. One such moment came with his best mate from the team Shubman Gill during the fag end of the day.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gull were seen playing ‘ringa ringa roses’ game. In the video that has gone viral on the internet, the two batters were seen holding each other’s hand and then moving roundabout, enjoying each other’s company.

Virat Kohli’s and Shubman Gill’s moment came during the time when South Africa were batting for the second time in the day. The fast bowlers of both teams had a sensational outing in the game on Day 1, which saw as many as 23 wickets falling.

India first bowled out South Africa for 55 runs and then it was the Proteas bowler who returned the favour. The Dean Elgar-led side bundled out the visitors for 153 runs and made sure that they didn’t let the opposition take a lead of over 100 runs.

With India taking a lead of 98 runs in the first innings, it was expected that South Africa would come up with a better performance in the second innings. But Indian pacers yet again were on the money as they picked three wickets and ended the day on high.

IND vs SA: Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill play decent hands with bat

Although India got out for just 153 runs in their innings, they had some decent batting performances as well. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli were the top performers for the team as they played vital hands for the team and made sure that the team got a decent lead in the first innings.

India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early and then Shubman Gill took matters into his hands. He negotiated the tricky phase with skipper Rohit Sharma (39) as the duo added over 50 runs for the partnership to give the team a vital start. After the skipper got out, Gill joined hands with Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill batted well together and added 33 runs partnership. Both the batters got starts but unfortunately couldn’t convert them. While Gill ended with a knock of 36 runs, Kohli scored 46 runs.

The series between India and South Africa is currently stationed at 1-0 with Proteas in the lead. Although the Rohit Sharma-led side cannot win the series, it will be a huge opportunity for them to draw the series. If they manage to win the ongoing game, it will for the first time that they will draw a series in South Africa since 2010.
