India and Sri Lanka go head to head in a T20I and ODI series. The first IND vs SL T20I will be played in Pallekele on July 27, Saturday from 7 pm IST. The T20Is will be played in Pallekele followed by the ODIs in Colombo.

India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav who has been named the new T20I captain. Shubman Gill has been elevated as the vice-captain. Hardik Pandya who was India's vice-captain in the T20 World Cup is a part of the T20I squad as well.

Gautam Gambhir and the Indian selection committee felt that SKY could play all the matches and is better at fitness and hence he was given the note ahead of Pandya. The Indian T20I squad is overall very young.

Sri Lanka will be led by Charith Asalanka. He recently led Jaffna Kings to their fourth LPL title. After a disappointing T20 World Cup, Wanindu Hasaranga has stepped down as the team's T20I skipper. He is still part of the team as a player and will be crucial for their side.

Angelo Mathews and Dhanajaya de Silva have been left out while Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Perera come back. Ahead of the first T20I, Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out as he is yet to recover from a respiratory infection.

India does not have the likes of Rohit and Kohli. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, is without Angelo Mathews and Dhanajaya de Silva. They have recalled Kusal Perera and Dinesh Chandimal. This is the first series for India under their new coach Gautam Gambhir.
