India and Sri Lanka go head to head in the third and final IND vs SL ODI in Colombo on Wednesday. The hosts are ahead in the series after winning the second ODI by 32 runs. The first ODI ended in a tie.

Sri Lanka after posting 240 with the bat managed to defend the target with Jeffrey Vandersay picking up 6/33. Charith Asalanka the skipper picked up the remaining three wickets.

On a turning track, the defense of the Indian batters were exposed after a 97-run opening stand in less than 15 overs. Rohit once again gave the team a blazing start but the comeback from the Sri Lanka spinners stunned India.

The Lankan batters after their early loss of wickets managed to take the score beyond 240 which turned out to be a winning score. After losing the T20I series, Sri Lanka now leads the ODI series. Meanwhile, this was India's first loss under Gautam Gambhir.

It was a shocking loss for the Indian team given they were playing their sull-strength squad. Sri Lanka were without the likes of Waninsu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and even Matheesha Pathirana but they still found a way out.

The loss should be a good learning curve for Gambhir's India who have played with an attacking approach so far. Virat Kohli who scored 24 and 14 in the first two games needs to bring out his best for India to win just as he did in the T20 World Cup final.
