Virat Kohli Put The Pressure Back On Pakistan Players: Robin Uthappa
While speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, former wicketkeeper batter Robin Uthappa heaped praises on Virat Kohli. Uthappa said that Kohli took his time initially but was able to increase his tempo.
“Took his time initially. But the minute he felt he wanted to increase the tempo, he was able to do that. Running between the wickets has been his cheat code ever since he’s discovered himself and discovered his template with his batting. He used that so well”.
“It’s a testinomy of how fit he is and how fit KL Rahul is as well because he supported a lot of those. Double calls as well. And just when the moment was right, he upped the ante and put the pressure on these [Pakistan] guys”, Uthappa said.

Uthappa also said he loves how Kohli puts the pressure back on the bowler while batting.
“What I love about him and I think what I have learned a lot from Virat Kohli watching him bat over the years is, every time he gets a bounary, he always gets a single or a double and that puts the pressure on a bowler and suddenly he’s like okay, how do a bowl a dot ball here. He’s you know not even thinking about getting a wicket.
He’s already put the bowler on the back foot and he does that so often it’s like, you know, he knows it like the back of his head and so great to watch. It’s such a great lesson for anyone who wants to kind of master their skills as far as ODI cricket is concerned”, the former KKR opener added.
Meanwhile, India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs in the Asia Cup 2023. Batting first, India posted a mammoth 356-2 on the board. Later, Pakistan were bowled out for 128, losing by a big margin.
