IND vs SL: Watch - Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli's Celebration After India Win Asia Cup 2023

Premier Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were elated in joy after the Indian Cricket Team won the Asia Cup 2023. The Men in Blue thumped Sri Lanka by 10 wickets at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to bag their 8th title of the continental cup. 

As India won the game, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on the sidelines were seen celebrating the Indian team’s win. The duo were filled with joy as the crowd cheered for them. Ravindra Jadeja too was seen celebrating with them.

Coming to the game, India didn’t put a foot wrong in the game. They were asked to bowl first and they rattled the Sri Lanka batting lineup. Mohammed Siraj was the chief architect behind that as he picked 6 wickets in the clash. Hardik Pandya bagged three wickets whereas Jasprit Bumrah picked one as they bundled out the opposition for just 50 runs. 

With the bat then, skipper Rohit Sharma sacrificed his batting position and promoted Ishan Kishan up the order. He partnered with Shubman Gill and the duo easily chased the target. 

Ishan Kishan (23*) and Shubman Gill (27*) then batted staggering well and added 51 runs for the opening partnership and won the game for their inside 7 overs to lift their 8th Asia Cup title. 

IND vs SL: Was a great performance – Rohit Sharma Lauds his teammates for his magnificent performance 

Indian captain Rohit Sharma lauded his team for the character that they showed in the final of the Asia Cup 2023. He hailed Mohammed Siraj for his brilliant performance. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he explained: 

“Yeah was a great performance. To come out and play like that in the final shows the mental character. Great start with the ball and a clinical finish with the bat. I was standing in the slips, and something we take pride in – our seamers have been working really hard. 

“Very very clear in their mind. It was good to see that. Such a performance we will cherish for a long time. I never thought it’s going to do that much. Comes down to the skillset of individuals. Siraj has to be given a lot of credit.” 

India will now be seen in action when they will take on Australia in the three-match ODI series. The first game will be played on 22nd September.
