IND vs USA: Arshdeep Singh's father sacrifices his son in the name of..

Arshdeep Singh, who became the hero against Pakistan by defending 18 runs in the final over 2 days ago, had his father supporting India and not him. 

The left-arm seamer, based out of Punjab, was on top of the world during last Sunday's low-scorer India-Pakistan contest at the Nassau County Stadium. New York hosted one of the most exciting and nail-biting finishes to an Indo-Pak match which ran until the last over of the game just like it had happened in the previous 2022 edition. 

Back then it was the batters who had come to the rescue but this year it was the bowlers who saved the day for Rohit Sharma and 140 crore Indians. While Jasprit Bumrah became the game changer with his man of the match-winning spell of 3/14, Arshdeep Singh was somehow one of the unsung heroes along with Mohammed Siraj. 

Arshdeep Singh's comeback from Asia Cup 2022 villain to T20 WC 2024 hero against Pakistan 

Arshdeep Singh, in his short career, experienced his biggest setback when he first dropped a crucial catch and then failed to defend 7 runs in the 2022 Asia Cup. The match was against Pakistan and we all know how costly such mistakes prove to be. Even if the team management forgives the players fans and 140 crore Indians in India and more around the world won't. 

For almost a few weeks, until the T20 World Cup 2022 arrived, Arshdeep Singh was pronounced as the Villain for that dropped catch majorly. He had told a member of the Indian coaching staff about the sleepless night he had gone through after the game. But even then he wasn't worried about the trolling or anything. 

But he was concerned about how to improve his yorker which had turned into a full toss in that over. That's the sign of a good play and Arshdeep Singh is one such guy. He used that Asia Cup 2022 energy and used it in the final over in New York a couple of days ago. 

"He shared that he does not care about trolls but his thoughts were only about not his attempted yorker turning into a full toss." - a member of the coaching staff had said. 

Fast forward 2 years and Arshdeep Singh has turned from a villain to a game-changer for the Indian team. Even if he had the highest economy rate that day, the seamer was able to do his job perfectly. 

Arshdeep Singh's father's reaction

Arshdeep Singh's Father was a proud man after his son successfully defined the required runs in the game. He was asked to share about his reaction in a video uploaded on Arshdeep's IPL team Punjab Kings' Instagram handle. He first introduced the entire family of the fast bowler and was then asked about whom was he supporting more - the team or his son.

Like a true countryman, Arshdeep Singh's father responded that he puts the country first and his son second. "India First, Son Later."
