Team India captain Rohit Sharma once again failed to lead from the front as he was out for a single-digit score in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 clash against USA at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The India opener started his campaign in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup on a good note by scoring a match-winning fifty against Ireland. His fine knock on the tough pitch had helped India beat Ireland by 8 wickets. However, he has failed to replicate that performance in his last two outings.

In the previous game against Pakistan, Rohit Sharma started on a positive note by hitting Shaheen Afridi for a brilliant six in the very first over. However, Afridi had the last laugh as he dismissed the India star for just 13 in his very next over.

Rohit Sharma endured another failure with the bat in the ongoing game against the USA. Chasing 111 runs, India were off to a disastrous start as Virat Kohli was out for a golden duck in the very first over. The onus was on the captain to steady the ship by playing a good knock.

However, Rohit could not get going with the bat either and departed after scoring 3 runs off 6 balls. He became left-arm pacer Saurabh Netravalkar's second victim of the game. On the second ball of the third over, Rohit top-edged a fullish length delivery towards mid-off. With Rohit failed to deliver as a captain, the fans quickly took to Twitter to slam him for his failure.

Here are some of the reactions to Rohit Sharma's failure:

Talking about the game, India were on 27 for 2 in the 6th over at the time of writing this report. Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav were batting in the middle for the Men in Blue. India would be hoping to win the ongoing game to seal their spot in the Super 8s.
