Former South Africa speedster Dale Steyn decoded the length of Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who played a crucial role in India's victory over Pakistan

Jasprit Bumrah was breathing absolute fire 2 days ago during Rohit Sharma's India clash against Babar Azam's Pakistan at the Nassau County Stadium. The Indian flag was hoisted in the land of New York which marks the first time this iconic fixture took place in the United States of America.

The Pakistanis had the match in the palm of their hands but it was Jasprit Bumrah who snatched the win and most importantly those 2 crucial points. Bumrah came up with the game-changing moment when he arrived to bowl his final over of the match.

The right-arm pacer took the wicket of set batter Mohammad Rizwan in the very first ball and that was the beginning of the turnaround. Pakistan went on to lose back-to-back wickets from that point onwards and eventually lost their 7th match against India in T20 World Cup editions.

For his bowling figures of 3/14 from 4 overs, Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged as man of the match for the second consecutive time in the 2024 T20 World Cup. His performance was highly appreciated by former cricketers and Dale Steyn even did a thorough analysis of his bowling.

Dale Steyn claims the length of Jasprit Bumrah is his strength

While speaking to Star Sports recently, Dale Steyn spoke in depth about the strength of Jasprit Bumrah. Steyn feels that Bumrah's power lies in his length and his ability to variably change that in different junctures of the game. The South African believes that the Indian pacer never really had any issues with his line and admitted that he can bowl anywhere he wants.

"I think his great skill is his ability to alter his length. He's never really had an issue with his line. If he wants to follow a wide yorker, it's no problem. A straight yorker. It's no problem." - Steyn said via Star Sports.

About Jasprit Bumrah's length, Dale Sten said that the former has the special ability to change his length according to the pitch he bowls in. Steyn narrated that in India, Bumrah bowls a lot fuller, and at times he even bowls the short balls.

And in New York's drop-in pitch, Dale Steyn admitted that Jasprit Bumrah has been able to accurately adjust his length without making many mistakes. Steyn is specifically impressed with Bumrah not bowling half-volley deliveries and making the batters work hard to play their shots against him.

"But his length. We spoke about the length earlier. When you're in India, you might want to change your length. You might want to go a little bit fuller, you know, maybe a bit shorter wherever it is. But he's adjusted to the length here so well. And that means that as a batter, you're getting absolutely nothing. He's not bowling any half volleys that you can score runs." - Dale Steyn concluded.
