India pacer Jasprit Bumrah lavished rich praise on skipper Rohit Sharma for his captaincy in the game against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the opening batter was clear in his leadership even after the team got all out for a low total.

India Team had a sensational outing in the game against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. They won the game by the margin of 6 runs against their arch-rivals at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday (9th June).

India were asked to bat first but they didn’t have a great outing with the bat. Pakistan pacers were all over the batters as they bowled impeccable lines and lengths and troubled the Rohit Sharma-led side with wickets at regular intervals of the game.

Hardik Pandya supported him well as he too chipped in with valuable wickets. In the end, Arshdeep Singh held his nerve and defended the target to win the match for his team by six runs. They won the game from the jaws of defeat and it was a sensational outing for them with the ball.

Jasprit Bumrah admitted that the team was very disappointed with the batting performance but the skipper Rohit Sharma told them to focus on what is there. He added that they decided not to panic and play according to the situation. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“Rohit Sharma's Captaincy was very clear. We were a little disappointed as we wanted to add more runs in total but in the team huddle after the first innings, the message was very clear what's next, what is in our control and we were trying to focus on that and not to create any panic.”

Jasprit Bumrah won his second Player of the Match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He returned with the figures of 3/14 and helped the team win the game.
