Former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar lauded young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh as a complete bowler, stating that he has the ability to play in the ODI World Cup 2023. Abhishek Nayar highlighted that Arshdeep Singh can bowl in the middle overs and the death overs of the match.

Nayar’s statement came after India’s nine-wicket victory in the fourth T20I, where Arshdeep picked up three wickets for 38 in his four-over quota. He claimed one wicket for 20 runs in the series decider. Singh emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the series, amassing 7 wickets in 5 matches.

Arshdeep Singh Is A Cleaver Bowler – Abhishek Nayar

Speaking to Jio Cinema, Abhishek Nayar described Arshdeep Singh as a clever bowler who utilizes the seam effectively.

“Arshdeep Singh is an experienced player. As we’ve seen in the IPL., Arshdeep can bowl in the death, in the last five overs and in the middle overs. He is a cleaver bowler who uses the seam well,” said Nayar.

The Men in Blue suffered an 8-wicket loss against the West Indies in the fifth T20I in Florida on Sunday, August 13. The visitors scored 165 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. The hosts successfully chased down the target with 12 balls to spare.

Arshdeep Singh Is A Complete Bowler – Abhishek Nayar

Abhishek Nayar expressed confidence in Arshdeep’s skills, emphasizing his potential for a successful and long-lasting international career.

“He used the slower one. He is a complete bowler, the more he plays, the better he will get. I believe he has the ability to play the World Cup and play for India for a long time,” Nayar added.

The 24-year-old made his international debut in a T20I match against England in July 2022. The pacer represented India in three ODIs and 31 T20I matches, picking up 48 wickets in the shorter format while going wicketless in two innings in the 50-over format.
