Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra advised middle-order batter Sanju Samson to capitalize on the opportunities with the national team in T20I cricket. Aakash Chopra pointed out that Jitesh Sharma is currently awaiting his chance to represent the nation.

Sanju Samson’s performance has been disappointing in the ongoing five-match T20I series. He managed to score only 19 runs in two innings with an average of 9.50 and a strike rate of 100. He might be dropped from the playing XI if he fails to perform in the third T20I.

Don’t Waste Your Chance – Aakash Chopra

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra emphasized the importance of the match for Sanju Samson to retain his spot in the team.

“Sanju Samson – don’t waste your chance. If you waste your chance, you will remember it later. It is not that if Ishan Kishan goes from the top, Sanju cannot go from below. Both can go and Jitesh Sharma can come,” Chopra said.

The Hardik Pandya-led team will take on the West Indies team in the third T20I at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday, August 8.

Surya Getting Out Didn’t Really Work Out – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra mentioned that Suryakumar Yadav should avoid non-existent singles, emphasizing that his run-out had a significant impact on the match’s result.

“Suryakumar Yadav, you can’t doubt the player, got run out in one match. He should have said ‘No’ in the last match. It was a non-existent single. It was Ishan Kishan’s mistake, in my opinion, but whoever gets out in the end is at fault.”

“So if Suryakumar had refused and in that if Ishan had gotten out, so be it. Surya getting out didn’t really work out for India. Tilak Varma is playing well at No. 4, so let’s not talk about him.”

Tilak Varma made his international debut in the first T20I match. The left-handed batter scored a quick-fire knock of 39 runs off 22 balls in the series opener, followed by his maiden half-century of 51 runs off 41 deliveries.
