Ishan Kishan Might’ve Learnt One-Handed Sixes From Rishabh Pant- Deep Dasgupta
While speaking on ESPNCricinfo about Ishan Kishan’s two one-handed sixes in the match, former India wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta said that it was surprising to watch him play those shots. Gupta also feels since Kishan spent some time at National Cricket Academy (NCA) with Rishabh Pant, he might have learned those shots from him.
“That’s something that was surprising. He hit two one-handed sixes. We know Rishabh pulls it off ever so frequently. I really haven’t seen Ishan Kishan pull that off. He spent some time with Rishabh at NCA, who is undergoing his rehab. May be he’s picked up a few things from Rishabh,” Deep Dasgupta said.

Rishabh Pant is very well known for hitting one-handed sixes. Due to an injury caused by a road accident, Pant is recovering at NCA. Deep Dasgupta also said that Ishan Kishan had the perfect opportunity to showcase his batting might to the team.
“Everything was kind of tailor-made for Ishan Kishan – the start that India got, the platform that he had when he came out to bat, and the requirement. Everything suited him and he did what he does so well – played his shots. That’s something that would help him going forward as well, figuring out the right tempo in Test match cricket,” the 46-year-old further said.
After bowling out West Indies for 255, India captured a massive lead of 183 runs after 1st innings. In the 2nd innings, India needed to score as much as possible quickly to bring back West Indies to bat.
Kishan arrived at the no.4 position and gave a glimpse of his hard-hitting batting. Hence, he did a perfect job for the team at the moment. Taking the team to a good score to set up a powerful target for the opposition.
Meanwhile, West Indies have reached 75-2 in the 2nd innings with one day to go. The home side needs to chase 365 runs in the match. Earlier, Rohit Sharma-led India won the 1st Test by innings and 141 runs.
