Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal expressed his disappointment over Sanju Samson’s dismissal during the second T20I between India and the West Indies. Kamran Akmal stated that Sanju Samson missed a valuable opportunity to seal his place in the lineup.

Sanju Samson’s batting performance has been subpar during the ongoing five-match T20I series against the West Indies. The right-handed batter scored 19 runs in two innings with a dismal average of 9.50 and a strike rate of 100. He scored 12 runs and 7 runs in two games, respectively.

Disappointing To See Sanju Samson Get Out This Way- Kamran Akmal

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal criticized Sanju Samson’s batting approach, stating that the batter could have displayed more maturity.

“It was disappointing to see Sanju Samson get out this way,” said Akmal.

“He got a chance to bat a little higher, and there were a lot of overs left. It would have been the biggest statement,” he added.

The Kerala batter was promoted to the No. 5 position with more than 10 overs left in India’s innings. He tried to take on Akeal Hosein by stepping down, but he missed the ball completely and got stumped by Nicholas Pooran.

He Is A Class Batter – Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal emphasized the need for Sanju Samson to perform better in crucial situations and display greater maturity in his approach.

“He is a class batter, but you need to stand up in such situations. He should be more mature in his approach. He has been around for a while now but is yet to cement his place in the team.”

The Hardik Pandya-led team is currently trailing by 0-2 in the ongoing series. The Men in Blue will be hoping to make a comeback when they take on the Rovman Powell-led team in a do-or-die match in Guyana on Tuesday, August 9.
