Indian T20I captain Hardik Pandya has been bashed left right and center after his selfish act in the 3rd IND vs WI T20I. Continuing his strong start in international cricket, Tilak Varma impressed with the bat once again as he helped India beat West Indies by seven wickets in the third T20I in Guyana. It was a must-win game for Team India as they needed to register a victory to keep the five-match series alive after losing the first two games.

And the Hardik Pandya-led side came up with a clinical performance. West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts finished their innings on 159 for 5. Openers Brandon King and Kyle Mayers gave them a good start by adding 55 runs for the first wicket.

Both the openers failed to capitalise on the starts while Johnson Charles and Nicholas Pooran also failed to score big. Towards the end, captain Rovman Powell slammed an unbeaten 40 off just 19 balls to help his team finish with a competitive total. For India, Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets.

In reply, India chased down the total in less than 18 overs thanks to fine knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. After Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill failed at the top, the duo added 87 runs for the third wicket to all but seal the game. Suryakumar top-scored for India, scoring 83 off 44 balls while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 49.

While Hardik Pandya managed to lead Team India to an impressive win, it did not stop the fans from slamming him. The reason behind it was Hardik Pandya’s decision to deny Tilak Varma a well-deserved fifty. On the fourth ball of the 18th over, Tilak Varma took a single to get to 49 and take the team’s score to 158.

With only 2 runs needed off 14 balls, the fans were expecting Hardik Pandya to take a single or defend the two remaining balls of the over so that his younger teammate could complete his fifty. Usually, players try their best to ensure that their teammate at the other end gets to complete his fifty or a century.

However, the India captain decided otherwise. On the fifth ball of the over, he decided to end the game by hitting a six and left Tilak Varma stranded on 49. And as soon as the game ended, the fans took to Twitter to slam Hardik Pandya.
