IND vs WI: "Rahul Dravid Wouldn’t Have Asked Pandya To..." - Dodda Ganesh Hits Back At Parthiv Patel

Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh gave a befitting reply to Parthiv Patel’s statement of Team India need a proactive coach in the T20Is. He lashed out at the former keeper batter, saying that the head coach didn’t ask the skipper to under bowl Yuzvendra Chahal. 

Rahul Dravid has been under a lot of scanner ever since India lost two back-to-back T20Is against West Indies. Many have started questioning his place as a coach in the team with the team losing a lot of matches against some weak teams as well. 

India have displayed poor performances with both bat and ball in the two games. More particularly, the decision-making has been poor, which has cost India a lot. One of the things that came to the notice of everyone was during the second T20I in Guyana. 

India played 6 bowlers including Hardik Pandya but what caught the attention of many was when Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a game-changing 16th over, he didn’t get to bowl the next over. Whereas Axar Patel wasn’t even given a chance to bowl, especially with the wicket being spin friendly. 

Following this Rahul Dravid received a lot of hate and even former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel criticised the head coach. He told to Cricbuzz: “Hardik Pandya the captain has been brilliant for Gujarat Titans with the support of Ashish Nehra. But is Rahul Dravid the proactive coach or person which we are looking for in the T20 format? I don’t think so. We need someone who is proactive. Hardik Pandya has that spark but he needs that support, which to me Rahul Dravid doesn’t provide.”

Parthiv Patel’s comment didn’t go well with Dodda Ganesh, who lashed out at the former keeper batter, saying that he’s sure that Rahul Dravid has been targeted needlessly for Hardik Pandya’s school-boy like errors on the field. He tweeted: 

“I’m sure Rahul Dravid wouldn’t have asked Pandya to under-bowl Chahal or not bowl Axar. But Rahul isn’t a proactive coach it seems. Coach Rahul Dravid being pulled up needlessly for skipper Pandya’s school-boy like errors on the field.”
