Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal lauded Suryakumar Yadav for his match-winning half-century in the third T20I against the West Indies. Kamran Akmal highlighted that Suryakumar Yadav has the ability to single-handedly tilt the match in his team’s favor with his batting.

Suryakumar Yadav came to the crease in the first over after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal. The right-handed batter started his innings with an aggressive approach. He maintained the same tempo throughout the match, scoring 83 runs off 44 balls, which included 10 fours and four sixes.

Has Been A Marked Change In Batting – Kamran Akmal

In a video on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal discussed Surykumar Yadav‘s batting approach in the match against the West Indies.

“When early wickets fell, it was still okay because the senior batters took responsibility and ensured the job was done. Suryakumar Yadav is such a player that when he fires, he just makes the game one-sided and that’s exactly what he did,” Akmal said.

“There has been a marked change in batting. There has been a sense of responsibility and game awareness that ‘Hey, we are doing something wrong and we need to change it if we want to win games,'” he added.

The Indian bowlers restricted the opposition to a total of 159/5 in 20 overs. The visitors chased down the target by seven wickets with 13 balls to spare. Surya was named the Player of the Match for his sensational knock.

Just Need To Show The Same Game Awareness – Kamran Akmal

The former Pakistan opener believes that the Men in Blue can score around 200 runs even in the absence of veteran batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

“Although they don’t have star batters like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, this Indian batting line-up can still score 200 runs,” he further stated.

“They just need to show the same game awareness and ensure that the openers need to utilize the powerplay. When you plan and execute according to the conditions, everything falls into place,” he concluded.

The Hardik Pandya-led team will take on the Rovman Powell-led team in the penultimate match of the five-match series at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida on Saturday, August 12.
