IND vs WI: 'Suryakumar Yadav Doesn't Like Vada Pav...'- Aakash Chopra Takes A Hilarious Jibe At Rohit Sharma After SKY's Scintillating Knock

Aakash Chopra was massively impressed by Suryakumar Yadav’s third T20I knock against West Indies on Tuesday, August 8. SKY scored 83 off 44 balls as India chased down 160 with 13 balls to spare. He was rightly awarded the Man of the Match for his incredible knock that included 10 fours and four sixes.

The match was finished by Tilak Varma (49*) and Hardik Pandya (20*) who added an unbeaten 43-run stand to take India to victory. The left-hander fell one short of his second T20I fifty in three games as he continues his rise in his stocks as a T20I cricketer.

Analysing India’s performance and Surya’s knock in particular, Aakash Chopra praised the batter for his Man of the Match award and spoke about his well-known sweep shot as well.

“Let’s first start with the Player of the Match – Suryakumar Yadav. The commentators there chose him and I am also choosing him because it is impossible for anyone else to be here. When Surya shines, everyone looks pale in front of him. He doesn’t like vada pav as much as he likes the sweep. He plays amazingly well” Chopra said.

He further said that SKY’s unconventional batting technique made the chase look easy. The win was important because it kept India alive in the series and also came in a winning cause that did not happen in the first T20I.

“The 160-run chase was not that easy. It was a used surface, you had lost the toss, and you had to chase. It was a difficult task but Suryakumar Yadav has the ability to make it a one-sided match there and that is why he is the Player of the Match without a doubt.”

India was struggling at 34/2 inside the powerplay which is why SKY’s knock becomes even more special. Chopra hailed him for his Man of the Match award stating that he wins a MOM award every fourth T20I match that he plays.

“Just to understand, how many Player of the Match awards people have won in T20I matches – Virat Kohli has played 115 matches and he has 15 awards, Rohit Sharma has played 148 matches and has 12 awards, and Suryakumar Yadav has 12 awards in 51 matches. He gets a Player of the Match almost every fourth game” Chopra concluded saying.

India needs to win the final two T0Is on Saturday (August 12) and Sunday (August 13) to win the five-match series.
