England pacer Stuart Broad has announced that he will retire from international cricket after the ongoing Ashes 2023. Responding to the news, India head coach Rahul Dravid said that Stuart Broad is a terrific bowler who had a fantastic career.

Stuart Broad is part England team in Ashes 2023. The 37-year-old has shown stunning form in the series. With 20 wickets in 5 Tests, the right-arm pacer is the leading wicket-taker for England in Ashes 2023 so far. Overall, he is second after Australia’s Mitchell Starc (23).

Stuart Broad Is A Terrific Bowler: Rahul Dravid

During the post-match press conference of IND vs WI 2nd ODI, India head coach Rahul Dravid responded to Stuart Broad’s retirement. Dravid said that Broad has been a terrific bowler and his partnership with James Anderson will always be remembered.

“I think he has been a terrific bowler. I think his partnership with Jimmy Anderson is something that will always be remembered. I think Anderson and Broad, the whole decade they played for England, really put in some fantastic performances”, the former India skipper said.

Rahul Dravid also added that picking 600 wickets makes Stuart Broad a special cricketer. He also congratulated the England pacer for his fantastic career.

“To take 600 wickets and to play the number of Test matches that he has, takes a special kind of cricketer. My best wishes to him. Just to congratulate on an absolutely fantastic career. I hope he gets to finish it off in the best possible way that he wants to,” the former Indian player further added.

Stuart Broad is one of the most powerful pacers to play for England. The right-arm pacer has played 167 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 56 T20Is. After 2016, he retired from white-ball formats and only represented England in Tests.

The Nottingham player hunted 602 wickets in Tests, 178 in ODIs, and 65 in T20Is. He also accounts for 20 five-wicket hauls and 3 ten-wicket hauls in the longest format.
