IND Vs WI: Tilak Varma Praises Rohit Sharma For His Success, Says 'He Told Me That I Can Be...'

India left-handed batsman, Tilak Varma made his debut for the Men in Blues in the first T20I match against West Indies and played a stupendous. However, the youngster maintained his stunning form in the second T20I game as well and scored 51 runs in 41 balls.
While speaking to the reporters after the 2nd T20I match on Sunday (August 6), Tilak Varma praised Rohit Sharma and gave the skipper all the credit for his success.
Varma said that Rohit gave him confidence by telling him that he can be an all-format cricketer. Tilak Varma also added that Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma have been his inspiration.
“My inspiration has been Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma. I spend more time with Rohit bhai. In my first IPL, he had told me that Tilak you are an all-format cricketer. It boosted my confidence. His guidance has been massive for me,” Tilak Varma said.
Tilak Varma further lauded the India skipper and said that Rohit Sharma has been his support system and that he always tells the 20-year-old to enjoy the game.
Varma also added that Indian Premier League (IPL) played a big part in his career and was a turning point.
“Rohit Sharma has been a big support system to me. He always talk to me and tell me to enjoy the game. For me the turning point has been the IPL. The performance has helped me to play for India. Going forward I would like to continue it,” Tilak Varma added.

While talking about Hardik Pandya, the stand-in captain of India, Tilak Varma said that he said the youngster to continue his domestic and IPL form for the National team as well.
“Hardik bhai was also telling me the same. He told me that you have done well in the domestic and the IPL, follow your basics and enjoy your game,” Tilak Varma further added.
In the second T20I match of the five-game series, the Men in Blues suffered their second consecutive loss by two wickets. After batting first, India gave a target of 153 runs but failed to defend it in the second inning.
The third T20I match between India and West Indies will be held on Tuesday (August 8) at 8:00 PM IST. The game will be played at Providence Stadium, Guyana.
