Former India spinner, Pragyan Ojha praised the 20-year-old Tilak Varma who made his India Team debut in the first T20I match against West Indies, and said that he should take over the number four position in the ODI format.
Pragyan Ojha took to his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account where he said that the team management should include Tilak Varma in the 50-over format squad for India and the end discussion on who should hold the number four spot for the Men in Blues.
Ojha further praised Tilak Varma and said that he is very promising and able to show strong composure and can also benefit the Men in Blues since he is a left-handed batsman.

Tilak Varma’s consistency helps India to a 7-wicket win vs West Indies
Even though Hardik Pandya denied Tilak Varma from scoring his back-to-back half-century in the third T20I match on Tuesday (August 08) at Providence Stadium, Guyana but the 20-year-old showed a promising start for the Men in Blues after making his debut in the first T20I match of the five-game series.
In the third T20I match, Tilak Varma played a 49-run knock in 37 balls with a strike rate of 132.43 after coming in number four place.
Varma hammered four 4s and one six. The youngster made a strong partnership with Suryakumar Yadav who played 44 balls and scored 83 runs to mobilize the first win against West Indies in the 20-over format.
In the first inning, West Indies went to bat and gave a target of 160 runs after India failed to get early wickets. Kuldeep Yadav managed to take three wickets in his four-over spell and gave away 28 runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was included in the first eleven in place of Ishan Kishan however the 21-year-old Rajasthan Royals (RR) star player failed to make a mark along with Shubman Gill.
Suryakumar was named the Player of the Match after he played a stupendous inning. In the 18th over, Hardik Pandya hammered a six to clinch India’s seven-wicket victory against West Indies.
