Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan believes that ace batter Virat Kohli should enjoy this phase of his cricket career and stated that he can be a mentor for youngsters. Zaheer Khan said that Virat Kohli doesn’t have an extra burden on him as he isn’t the skipper of the team.
Virat Kohli has been part of India’s Test and ODI squads for the ongoing West Indies tour. The right-handed batter smashed a century in the second match of the recently concluded Test series. However, he was not included in the T20I series against the same opposition.

Enjoyment Factor Is Going To Be Huge For Virat Kohli- Zaheer Khan
Speaking to Jio Cinema, Zaheer Khan emphasized that the enjoyment factor will be significant for Virat Kohli at this stage of his career.
“Looking at that and looking at the space where Virat is in right now, you know that enjoyment factor is going to be huge. Keeping yourself fresh is something which is going to be very important for him going forward.
But I think the fact that he doesn’t have that time and energy going in right now after the other aspects of the game the captaincy brings, I think it is going to help him,” said Zaheer.

He’s Constantly Involved In The Game – Zaheer Khan
The former Indian pacer said that Virat Kohli’s active involvement in the game and brilliant form are positive signs for him.
“He’s constantly involved in the game. I think that those aspects are going to be very important for him going forward. But it’s good to see him in good space and scoring runs. And I think I think that’s what he should just right now do,” he added.

He Should Enjoy This Part Of The Career – Zaheer Khan
Zaheer Khan emphasized that Virat Kohli should embrace his mentor role and guide younger players like Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan.
“He should enjoy this part of the career where he’s actually going to be guiding like of you know Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan.
That mentor role is also going to be expected of him at this stage in his career that’s something that he does it anyways, but you know that that’s something that keeps you going and keeps you in the game,” he concluded.
The Rohit Sharma-led team will take on the Shai Hope-led team in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on Thursday, July 27.
