The No.1 ranked T20I batsman Suryakumar Yadav once again flopped as he was dismissed for a low score in the second T20I against West Indies, courtesy of an incredible direct hit from Kyle Mayers.

The second T20I of the five-match series between Hardik Pandya-led India National Cricket Team and Rovman Powell-led West Indies National Cricket Team got underway at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Sunday, August 06.

Suryakumar Yadav has not looked at his best in the ongoing West tour and on Sunday his indifferent form continued. In three ODIs, he registered scores of 19, 24, and 35 before scoring a run-a-ball 21 in the first T20I.

In the second T20I, he faced just 3 balls and scored 1 run before walking back to the hut. On the third ball of the 4th over, Ishan Kishan worked an Obed McCoy delivery to the left of Mayers at mid-wicket. The fielder was quick to grab the ball and launch a brilliant direct hit at the striker’s end. Suryakumar put in the dive but was found well short of his crease.

Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. They made one change to their playing XI as Kuldeep Yadav was left out. The BCCI revealed that the spinner got hit while batting in the nets and was ruled out of the match due to a sore left thumb. He was replaced by Ravi Bishnoi in the side.

At the time of writing the report, India were struggling at 82/4 in 12.3 overs with Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma out in the middle.

West Indies (Playing XI): Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Johnson Charles, Nicholas Pooran(w), Rovman Powell(c), Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy

India (Playing XI): Ishan Kishan(w), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya(c), Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mukesh Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi
