IND-W vs AUS-W: Deepti Sharma Becomes No.2 T20I Bowler; Titas Sadhu, Shreyanka Patil Make Substantial Gains

India Women player Deepti Sharma became the new No.2 ranked bowler in the T20I format. She achieved the feat after sensational performances in the ongoing three-match series against Australia Women.

Deepti Sharma has been nothing short of exceptional in the ongoing T20I series against Australia. She picked 4 wickets across two games so far and was economical as well. She moved four spots to bag the second position.

With the kind of she is putting up with the ball, it won’t be a surprise if she becomes the new No.1 ranked bowler in the T20Is. Deepti Sharma (723 ratings) only has Sophie Ecclestone (777 ratings) ahead of her in the rankings.

Apart from the bowling performance, Deepti Sharma has been fantastic with the bat as well. She made handy contributions to the team in both games. Her staggering effort with bat and ball saw her bag the 4th spot in the ICC Women’s Rankings for all-rounders.

From India Women, Titas Sadhu, who picked four wickets in the first game, made a good rise. She moved 50 spots up to bag the 92nd spot. Apart from Titas, Australia’s Georgia Wareham too made substantial gains. She made a 15-spot jump to acquire the 28th spot in the rankings.

In terms of T20I batting ranking, Smriti Mandhana retained her 4th position after two decent knocks in the two games. Whereas Australia skipper Alyssa Healy entered the top 10 in rankings. Ellyse Perry after her heroics in the second game saw her moving to the 19th spot in the ICC T20I rankings for women.

Australia Women’s younger players, Phoebe Litchfield also made huge gains after her impressive performances in the two games. She moved 19 spots up and bagged the 52nd spot in the ranks with a rating points of 440.

In the ODI rankings, players from both India and Women made gains. Megan Schutt became the No.2 ranked bowler in the WODIs after her heroics in the 50-over format against the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side.

Georgia Wareham moved up six spots to 12th whereas Shreyanka Patil jumped 66 places to bag the 62nd spot with 309 rating points. In terms of batting, Phoebe Litchfield acquired the 23rd spot after her impressive run in the ODI series against India Women.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Deepti Sharma to play a vital role for India Women in third T20I

The ongoing T20I series between India Women and Australia Women has been exciting so far. The series currently stands leveled at 1-1 after both teams produced sensational performances in the first two games.

In the first game, India Women thrashed Australia Women by 9 wickets whereas the visitors returned the favor in the second game with a 6-wicket win. The focus now shifts towards the second game, which will be played on Tuesday (9th January). The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side would be eager for a series win after facing thrashing in ODIs.

For that, Deepti Sharma needs to bring out her best. The all-rounder will be vital for the team in the last game. She would be hoping to continue her dream run and help her side win the series.
