India Asian Games Schedule 2023 Revealed As Ruturaj Gaikwad And Co Look To Add Another Feather In The Cap Of Indian Cricket Team

Team India will be eyeing a historic gold medal in the men’s cricket event at the upcoming Asian Games 2023. The Indian cricket teams (men and women) will be making their respective debut in the continental multi-sports event.

Cricket made its debut in the Asian Games in 2010 and was played in 2014 too but was dropped for the 2018 edition. However, the game has been included in the Asian Games for the upcoming edition scheduled to be held in China. India had opted out of the 2010 and 2014 editions and will be looking to go all the way in the upcoming edition.

The Indian squad has been announced for the Asian Games. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading a second-string side in the competition since most of the first-team players will be busy representing the Men in Blue in the upcoming ICC World Cup. The tournament will be played in the T20 format and India are one of the big favorites to win the coveted Gold Medal.!

Team India’s schedule for Asian Games 2023:

The men’s cricket tournament at the Asia Games will be played from September 27 to October 7. The Men in Blue are the top-seeded team in the competition. A total of 15 teams will be participating in the event. The four top-seeded teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh – will directly start their campaigns from the quarter-finals.

On the other hand, the remaining 11 will start from the group stage. The four group winners will join India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh in the quarterfinals stage. The eleven teams have been divided into four groups. While Group A has only two teams – Afghanistan and Mongolia, the other three groups have three teams each.

Talking about Team India’s schedule at the Asian Games 2023, they will open their campaign on October 3. A win in that game will help India qualify for the semifinal which is scheduled to take place on October 6. The final is scheduled to take place on October 7. On the same day, the game to decide the third position is also scheduled.
