India turns second team after Pakistan to play 250+ T20I games

The India vs Oman match in the Asia Cup marks India's 250th appearance in the shortest format of the game. This is a major milestone in world cricket for India, as they are only the second team in the world to have achieved this record.

Arch-rivals Pakistan became the first team to have featured in 250+ matches in the shortest format of international cricket. The World Champions in the T20I format have played the most against Australia and Sri Lanka, that is, in 32 matches. They have played in 31 matches against South Africa.

The eight-time Asia Cup winners have already registered two wins in the Asia Cup 2025 and are all the way through to the Super-4 stage of the continental championship. Team India crushed its rivals, Pakistan, at the Dubai International Stadium.

India is the only team with a 50+ Win percentage against all teams in T20Is

India is the only team in the world to have maintained a win percentage of more than 50 against every opposition they have played against so far. India has registered an all-win situation with minor teams like Afghanistan, Ireland, and the UAE.

On the other hand, they have registered 11 wins against Pakistan out of 14 games and 16 wins in 17 games against Bangladesh. While playing against England, South Africa and the West Indies, they have registered 17, 18, and 19 wins, respectively.

Having played the most number of games against Australia and Sri Lanka, they have won 20 and 22 games, the most wins registered against a single opposition by the Men in Blue.

Suryakumar Yadav eyes his maiden multinational title as the Indian skipper

Suryakumar Yadav is leading India for the first time in a multinational championship. The skipper took over the captaincy of the Indian team from Rohit Sharma after he announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game.

Under Surya's leadership, India has won all their bilateral series against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and England. This is the first time he is leading India in a multiteam event, the Asia Cup. He would be eyeing his maiden Trophy before advancing to the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026.
