India has once again outclassed Pakistan on the field. India began their Hong Kong Sixes 2025 campaign with a narrow win over Pakistan in a rain-affected game on Friday (November 7) at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.
The India versus Pakistan game had an exciting start, but just when it seemed set for a thrilling finish, the rain came pouring down and forced an early end.

When the rain arrived, India was slightly ahead on the DLS par score, helping them secure a narrow 2-run win over Pakistan in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 match on Friday.
However, rain might have played spoilsport, but India grabbed two important points in the group stage of the ongoing Hong Kong Sixes 2025. After the match, the Indian players refused to shake hands with the Pakistan cricketers.

India vs Pakistan Hong Kong Sixes Match Highlight
Earlier, Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi chose to bowl first after winning the toss, and India made the most of the quick six-over format by putting up a strong total of 86/4 on the board. Chasing the target, Pakistan struggled to gain momentum and managed only 41/3 when rain interrupted play.
As the rain had the last say, the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 clash between India and Pakistan was decided by the DLS method, handing Dinesh Karthik’s team a narrow victory. Robin Uthappa was named Player of the Match for his brilliant knock of 28 runs off 11 balls, laced with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Both India and Pakistan are placed in Pool C, along with Kuwait. The tournament features a total of 12 teams divided into four groups of three. Each team plays fast-paced six-a-side matches, making the tournament one of the most entertaining events in the cricket calendar.

The Hong Kong Sixes was first launched in the early 1990s. It ran successfully from 1993 to 1997 and then played successfully between 2001 and 2012, but the event had a one-off edition in 2017, and now it was once again revived last year. This edition brings back the excitement to the fans.
Pakistan dominate Hong Kong Sixes; India won only once
Meanwhile, India had earlier suffered a setback as senior all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin was ruled out of the ongoing Hong Kong Sixes 2025 due to a knee injury. Ashwin’s injury was a big blow, especially as India aims to lift the trophy for the first time in two decades.
India has so far won only one Hong Kong Sixes title, back in 2005. On the other hand, Pakistan has been one of the most successful teams in the history of the Hong Kong Sixes, having lifted the trophy five times. They were the runners-up in last year’s edition after a close loss to Sri Lanka in the final.
In this season as well, Pakistan started their campaign with a thrilling victory over Kuwait earlier in the day. They needed 29 runs off the last over, and they pulled off the impossible. Abbas Afridi played a sensational knock of 55 runs off just 12 balls to take his side over the line.
