India Need To Strengthen The Batting By Including Suryakumar Yadav - Dilip Vengsarkar

Following the loss at Headingley, former batsman Dilip Vengsarkar feels India should add Suryakumar Yadav in the eleven for the remainder of the Tests against England. This comes as a reaction to India collapsing twice in Leeds – 78 all out in the first innings and 8 wickets for 63 in the second innings.
Dilip Vengsarkar opined that Yadav has the skillset required to succeed in the Test arena – he has been in excellent white-ball form over the past few years and boasts of an average of 44.01 in first-class cricket. He further asserted Virat Kohli should opt for six specialist batsmen and four bowlers.
“I don’t like to sound as if it’s a knee-jerk reaction but I firmly believe we need to strengthen our batting line-up by including Suryakumar Yadav ahead of Hanuma Vihari. We should drop a bowler and go in with six batsmen,” Dilip Vengsarkar told PTI.
“Surya can match (in terms of skills) with the best in this Indian team and since he’s around for sometime now he should be included before it’s too late,” he added.
Why Ashwin has not been picked so far is a mystery to me: Dilip Vengsarkar
“Why Ashwin has not been picked so far is a mystery to me? You leave out your best spinner out of the playing eleven to me is hard to digest. India will have to play with four bowlers and six batsmen if they have to win the remaining games,” the 65-year-old said.
Both the teams will travel back to London for the fourth Test at Kennington Oval, starting September 2nd.
