India Outplayed Us And Deserved To Win: Eoin Morgan

England captain Eoin Morgan heaped high praise on Team India stating that the Virat Kohli-led unit thoroughly outplayed them after the home side produced a clinical effort in the series-decider to win their seventh bilateral T20I rubber in their last 8 outings.
Coming into the game with the series locked at 2-2, Team India produced their best batting performance of the series as they registered their highest T20I total against England (2-224).
With Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan going hammer and tongs, England at one stage looked like threatening India’s total but the wicket of Buttler proved to be a game-changer as the visitors failed to make the most of their batting depth, something Eoin Morgan lamented on in the presentation party.
“I think the series facing a strong Indian team was fantastic… India outplayed us in the big moments of the game and deserved to win. As a general principle we bat deep – we try to take advantage of it – but couldn’t do so in big moments. In South Africa against South Africa, we chased 225,” said Eoin Morgan in the post-match presentation.
One of the big plusses for England in this series was the way Adil Rashid bowled during the powerplay.
“Huge plusses for us will be the powerplay bowling. Have to commend Adil Rashid for the new role with the new ball. That gives us the extra option,” said Morgan.
When asked if there are any worries for England post the series loss- their third in a row against India- Morgan shrugged it off as he alluded to the top-order doing really well in the two games that his side won
”No, not really [any worries?]. The top order really well in the two wins we did win,” added Morgan.
