India is now set to collide with Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series. IND vs SL 2nd ODI 2024 takes place on Sunday, August 4 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Rohit Sharma has the reins of the Indian team in the series.

The Indian team has a strong squad with most of its members with them. However, the pace department is short of ace Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Ahead of the 2nd ODI, we glance at India's predicted playing 11 for the match.

Rohit Sharma (C)

Rohit Sharma is the skipper of India in the IND vs SL ODI series and will lead the side in the 2nd game too. He will open the innings for the team in the next game too.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill will be the other opener for the India team in IND vs SL 2nd ODI. He was part of the first game too. He has a lot of experience with Sharma in the ODI format.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli should be the one-down batsman for the team in the next game of the series. The right-handed batsman now focuses on the longer format after retiring from the shortest format.

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer would be a good choice in the middle order and is among the most trustworthy and experienced batters in the middle. Iyer also aims for a selection for the Champions Trophy next year after missing the T20 World Cup 2024.

KL Rahul (WK)

KL Rahul was picked as the wicketkeeper in the 1st ODI and Team India will stick to him in the next game too. The right-handed batsman returns to the side after a long time as he was not part of the T20 WC 2024.

Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube was picked in the opening game and will be part of the 2nd ODI too. The left-handed batsman has cemented his spot in the T20I side and now looks to grab a spot in the ODI team too.

Washington Sundar

India cannot drop Washington Sundar from the squad as he is a spin all-rounder. He can grab wickets with his right-arm spin and also smack big runs towards the end with his left-handed batting.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel is another all-rounder who can smack runs and also outplay the batsmen with his spin attack. He is a left-arm spinner and provides more variation to the spin attack.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is the most crucial spinner for the side and has been part of the team for the last 7-8 years. He has made a big comeback in all three formats and can always come up with brilliant formats. He was also part of the T20I WC.

Arshdeep Singh

After making a fortune in the T20I side, Arshdeep Singh is now looking to make his way into the ODI team too. He has done a decent job and is the best left-arm pacer India has as of now. The left-arm pacer will be part of the playing 11 in the 2nd ODI too.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj gave an early start to the Indian team in the 1st ODI by getting a wicket in his first over and always gave a superb show against Sri Lanka. The right-arm pacer is the most experienced pacer for the side in IND vs SL series.
