India Playing XI vs Australia- 1st ODI, India Tour of Australia 2025:
Openers: Shubman Gill (c), Rohit Sharma
India will start the new era in ODI cricket under the leadership of Shubman Gill with the ODI series against Australia in Perth.
The Men in Blue would like to register a win in this particular match and take an early lead in the three-match series.
The Indian team has a good blend of youth and expierence and more importantly won a multi-nation tournament when they last played ODI cricket in March this year and would want to regain the momentum.
India will open the batting with Shunman Gill and Rohit Sharma, both of whom will look to get the team off to a good start.
Along with laying a platform, both Shubman and Rohit would hope to get some runs under their belt as well to gain confidence for the matches to come.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar
The visitors have a set top five when it comes to the team's batting, with former captain Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and newly appointed vice captain of the team, Shreyas Iyer, forming the core of the team's batting.
The onus will be on the top five batters to come good and score the bulk of the runs for the team, given the amount of experience they possess as far as ODI cricket is concerned.
Another reason why the team management would hope for the likes of Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli to have a good outing with the bat is due to their experience in the lower order.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundae, who are playing as fast and spin bowling all-rounders in place of Hardik Pandya and Ravibdra Jadeja respectively, don't have much experience of playing limited overs cricket in Australia.
Regardless of that, the duo would want to put on a strong performance with both bat and ball in the upcoming game.
Bowlers: Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj
The bowling department comprises a good blend of youth and experience, with the likes of Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Nitish Kumar Reddy at the helm, along with Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav.
Mohammed Sitaj will be expected to take the new ball from one end, while Arshdeep Singh will get things started from the other.
Harshit Rana, who also finds a spot in the squad and in all likelihood will be included in the playing XI as well as he can bowl at 140 KPH and can rush the Aussie batters with his pace.
As far as the team's spin bowling is concerned, it will be handled by Kuldeep Yadav and the off-spinner Washington Sundar, with Jadeja not a part of the team.
