In a hilarious twist to the traditional cricket experience, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has recruited the langurs to handle the ongoing danger of monkeys at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur during the highly anticipated second and final Test between India and Bangladesh.

With this innovative approach, the UPCA is aiming to ensure a distraction-free experience for players and spectators at the Green Park Stadium during the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test in Kanpur. They want to ensure that snacks and drinks are safeguarded from the monkeys that have made the stadium their playground.

Sanjay Kapoor, the venue director, revealed that the broadcast camera crews in the stands are particularly targeted by the monkeys, often finding their food snatched right from under their noses.

To avoid or ease this chaotic situation, the UPCA has strategically employed long-tailed leaf monkeys, known for their natural ability to prevent their smaller cousins from entering the stadium.

In a bid to further minimize the risk of monkey trouble, the raised stands just beyond the boundary line used by the television crew have been shielded with black cloth at the back and sides, creating a barrier to keep the monkeys away from entering the area.

Mr. Kapoor was quoted as saying by The Indian Express: “To avoid the terror of monkeys, we have langurs (long-tailed leaf monkeys) to take care of them.”

The deployment of langurs isn’t a new tactic for the UPCA, as it has proven effective during previous international matches in Kanpur. The services of Langurs have been hired in the past as well during India’s matches at Kanpur to ensure that the only drama on the field comes from the game itself.

On the other hand, on the opening day of the ongoing second and final India vs Bangladesh Test match, the C Stand at Green Park Stadium was closed to spectators after the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) declared it unfit for use.

Speaking about the India vs Bangladesh game, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Green Park Stadium. Bangladesh failed to get a strong start, as their opener Zakir Hasan fell for a duck, followed by his partner Shadman Islam for 24 runs. They were both dismissed by Akash Deep.

Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto are currently trying to stabilize Bangladesh’s innings, with the score standing at 74/2 in 26 overs against India. Well, the first session of the Kanpur Test was a challenging one, with many surprised by Rohit’s call to bowl first against Bangladesh.

However, the Indian captain believed that the overcast conditions would provide them a great opportunity to make the most of the new ball, and that’s why he opted to bowl first against the Tigers at Green Park. It is being said that the entire ground was covered after the first session.
