England sighed relief in the first Test after rain gods saved them from a possible defeat against India and the focus shifts to the evergreen Lord’s for the second Test. The crowds have started looking at the skies more than looking at the players and that has been the story of the first Test. With an excellent equation in the hand of 157 to win for India on the final day of the fifth test, there wasn’t a single over bowled due to the non-stop rain.

But there could be some positive signs expected on the second Test as mostly the day is expected to be cloudy with less possibility of rain. There could be some slight showers before the start of the first session, but it should get cleared quickly. The precipitation percentage is very low up to 0% in the second and the third sessions and the temperature is set to go up to 35 degrees in the afternoon session.

Stuart Broad To Miss Entire Series, James Anderson To Miss Lord’s Test

The premier swing bowlers of England, Stuart Broad, and James Anderson will not be available for the Lord’s test which is a great worry for the home side with Jofra Archer not available already. Stuart Broad had suffered a leg calf injury during the warm-up session and was taken for a scan later. He is set to miss the entire five-match test series.

On the other hand, James Anderson who had a good outing in the first Test will also miss the game at Lord’s had missed a training session and he had suffered a tight quad. The 39-year-old has still been making the ball talk and his experience would have been very handy in these conditions.

India Could Bring In R Ashwin

There could be a forced change from the Indian side as well with the seam-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur suffering from a hamstring niggle. Virat Kohli would have liked the combination of four-seamers and one spinner, but Lords has traditionally supported spin and hence, R Ashwin could get a look in.
